On June 5, the main steel structure beam hoisting of the high and extra-high voltage shielding hall project of Qingdao Hanhe Cable Co., Ltd., undertaken by Qingdao Eihe Steel Structure Group Co., Ltd. (EHSS), was successfully completed. This milestone marks that the construction of this national-level cable testing platform has entered a new phase.

National-level Shielding Hall

This shielding hall serves as the core building of the National Engineering Research Center for High and Extra-high Voltage Cables and is the only national-level testing platform in China's cable industry. Adopting a two-way planar truss structure with a span of 60 meters, the project demands extremely high standards for fabrication precision and installation quality. Upon completion, the hall will deliver full-band electromagnetic shielding to block external signal interference. It is designed for precision tests including factory withstand voltage and partial discharge detection of high and extra-high voltage cables. All finished cables must pass inspections here before delivery.

National-level Shielding Hall

As the general contractor, EHSS has coordinated detailed design, steel structure fabrication and on-site hoisting. Multiple large cranes worked in tandem to accurately control technical parameters such as span, elevation and clear height. Going forward, the company will steadily carry out the construction of enclosure purlins, shielding steel plates and sound-absorbing structures. We will strictly comply with all mandatory technical specifications for shielding space and building elevation, and deliver a high-quality steel structure project to ensure the smooth completion and commissioning of this national scientific research and testing platform.
