Located at the foot of Laoshan Mountain, the high and extra-high voltage shielding hall project of Qingdao Hanhe Co., Ltd. serves as the core building of the National Engineering Research Center for High & Extra-High Voltage Cables and the only national-level test platform in China’s wire and cable industry. Adopting a two-way planar truss structure with a span of 60 meters, the hall will deliver full-band electromagnetic shielding capacity upon completion. It is designed for precision tests of voltage withstand and partial discharge on high-voltage and extra-high voltage finished cables. All finished cables must pass inspection in this hall before delivery.

In this project, Eihe Steel Structure undertook the full scope of work for the main steel structure, from detailed design and component fabrication to on-site hoisting. Given the stringent requirements on manufacturing precision and installation quality for the 60-meter long-span truss, the project team coordinated multiple large cranes for joint operation. All technical parameters such as span, elevation and clearance were strictly controlled to guarantee the successful beam-lifting of the main structure.

In the subsequent construction phase, Eihe Steel Structure proceeded with works including enclosure purlins, shielding steel plates and sound-absorbing structures, and strictly complied with all mandatory technical indicators for shielding space and building elevations. This project marks an important practice of Eihe Steel Structure in national scientific research test platforms and long-span spatial structures, and accumulates construction experience for the refined construction of steel structures for high-end industrial buildings.
