170,000 ㎡ Financial Complex Topped Out: How Were 4,000 Tons of Steel Structure Precisely Positioned?

Located in Laoshan District, the Qingdao Wealth Financial Comprehensive Innovation Center has a total construction area of approximately 173,000 square meters. It includes column-free design for large exhibition spaces, long-span structures for the conference center and complex functional spaces such as landscape atriums. As an urban complex integrating high-end offices, financial business, star hotels and exhibition & conference facilities, the project requires over 4,000 tons of steel structure in total. 

As a key contractor for the steel structure of this project, Eihe Steel Structure undertook full-range tasks from detailed design, component fabrication to on-site installation. Confronted with challenges including diverse structural systems, tight construction schedule and multiple cross operations, the project team got deeply involved starting from the detailed design phase. BIM technology was applied for construction simulation and full-process digital management, so as to guarantee controllable prefabrication accuracy of steel components in factory and efficient connection during on-site installation, and effectively ensure precise positioning of the main structure. 

With the topping-out of its main structure, this urban landmark has taken initial shape. Upon completion, the project will serve as an important carrier for the upgrading of Qingdao’s financial industry and the optimization of urban space.
