EIHE Steel Structure is a Chinese manufacturer and supplier of Cost-Effective Steel Frame Housing. We have been deeply engaged in the steel structure industry for 20 years. Have rich construction experience in steel frame houses. The main material of this type of building is composed of light steel. This type of building has advantages such as high cost performance, stability and durability.
Cost-Effective Steel Frame Housing is a kind of residential building with light steel as the main frame. It uses cold-formed thin-walled steel as the framework of the building, replacing traditional bricks, concrete and wood. All its steel structure components can be prefabricated in the factory and then assembled on site. The construction site is quiet and does not require too many types of workers, which can save a lot of labor costs. Its covering materials are usually gypsum boards, OSB boards, etc. It is a modern and industrialized architectural solution. It is safe and fast. It features environmental protection and low cost, etc. It is widely applied in rural self-built houses, villas, camping sites, schools, homestays, etc.
Product features
The construction cost is controllable. The Steel required for Cost-Effective Steel Frame Housing is an industrialized product, and there is no particularly significant difference in price. The assembly construction mode can increase the construction speed and requires less labor. It can save time and labor costs. Steel structures are light in weight, usually only 1/4 to 1/5 of brick-concrete structures, and have lower requirements for the foundation, which can save the cost of foundation treatment.
The long-term usage cost is low. The walls of steel structures can be easily filled with thick insulation materials to form an efficient insulation layer, which is warm in winter and cool in summer. In the long run, it can save a lot of heating and cooling costs. The material is resistant to insects and corrosion (with coating protection), not as vulnerable to termites as wooden structures, nor as prone to cracks as brick-concrete structures. It is also easy to maintain in the later stage.
High space utilization. The walls can be made thinner. Compared with traditional brick-concrete structures, it can increase the actual usable area by about 8% to 15%, which is equivalent to getting more space for free and has a very high cost performance.
Seismic and wind resistance: Steel structures have good toughness and strong integrity, which can effectively resist earthquakes and typhoons, making them a very safe building form.
Fire prevention: Steel itself is non-combustible. When combined with fireproof gypsum boards and other covering materials, it can achieve a very high fire resistance rating.
Durability: The design service life of the main structure can reach 50 to 70 years or even longer.
Green and environmentally friendly. Recyclable materials: Steel is a 100% recyclable resource, and there is very little construction waste. During the construction process, there is little pollution such as noise, dust and sewage, which is friendly to the surrounding environment.

Product application cases
"Tomorrow's Home" Experimental Steel Structure Residence (Netherlands)In the small village of Steksel, 20 kilometers south of Eindhoven, the Netherlands, there stands a building named "House of Tomorrow". The developer of this building is Jos Lichtenberg. He practices the principles of future sustainable development by adopting current technologies, and thus it is named "House of Tomorrow". The unique sustainable strength and design flexibility of steel play a key role in realizing the design principles of Active House. The design principle of Slimbouwen emphasizes that the amount of building materials used should be less than 50%, and all materials should be produced within a radius of 200 kilometers. Therefore, the strength, ductility and recyclability of steel play a key role.
Seattle Steel House (USA)
Seattle is experiencing an urban exodus, with an increasing number of city residents being drawn to many elements of suburban life, such as front porch backyards, more spacious rooms and light. The design team hopes that these elements can also be realized in an urban environment. Seattle steel houses incorporate many elements of suburban life that are lacking in the city, allowing residents to stay in the city where they strive and become a vibrant part of it. The issue of cost is also a matter that needs to be considered - the affordable costs for the middle class and their living needs. Steel structure cabins demonstrate that in today's housing market, high cost-effectiveness can also be achieved, providing a new option for young people and professionals in cities. They offer a flexible design to adapt to long-term living Spaces without having to move out of their beloved cities.
FAQ
1. How can buildings be insulated?
The cavity of the steel frame wall can be filled with thick insulation cotton (such as glass wool, rock wool), and its insulation performance is more than three times that of the traditional brick wall. It truly achieves "warm in winter and cool in summer", providing an extremely high level of living comfort. After the interior and exterior decoration is completed, what you see are still gypsum boards, paints, wood veneers, etc. Visually and touchingly, it is no different from a traditional house.
2. How is the sound insulation performance of the house?
We will fill sound insulation cotton between the steel beams on the floor and adopt the "floating floor slab" technology (such as adding a sound insulation cushion layer on the OSB board and then pouring a cement layer) to effectively isolate the impact sound. The insulation cotton in the wall cavity itself is an excellent sound insulation material. When combined with double-layer gypsum board, its air sound insulation capacity far exceeds that of the traditional 24-brick wall.
3. Will steel structures be prone to rust in damp areas or coastal regions?
The main structure is not made of ordinary steel but aluminized zinc steel. The surface aluminum-zinc coating (AZ150 and above) can provide extremely strong anti-corrosion protection, and its corrosion resistance is 3 to 6 times that of ordinary galvanized steel. Under normal usage conditions, the designed service life can reach over 50 years. For coastal areas with high salinity and alkalinity, higher-specification coatings and sealing measures will also be adopted.
4. How is its fire resistance?
Steel itself is A non-combustible material (Grade A). The weak point of fire prevention lies in the internal filling material and the outer covering board. The standard practice is to fill with A-grade non-combustible rock wool and cover the interior and exterior walls with fireproof gypsum boards. Such a combination can make the fire resistance limit of the entire wall reach 1 to 2 hours, meeting or even exceeding the fire protection code requirements for residential buildings.
5. Are Cost-Effective Steel Frame Housing really cheaper than brick-concrete houses?
Construction costs are comprehensive. The "affordability" of steel frame houses is reflected in the following aspects: low labor costs; low foundation costs; short construction period; and high usable floor area ratio.
