The steel structure materials of it include H-shaped steel, square tubes, etc., which constitute its steel beams and steel columns, forming a complete frame structure. It is a controlled artificial ecosystem container. The primary task is to create a suitable environment for the growth of diverse plants, including light, temperature and humidity.

Its main functions are to display, conserve and study plants. It is a fusion of modern architectural technology, environmental science and ecological aesthetics.

Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition Botanical Pavilion

The architectural form mimics the root system of plants. The roof is composed of the main steel arch and the cantilevered steel truss system, creating a huge overhang that seems to rise from the ground. The main facade features a glass curtain wall, but the most distinctive part is its greenhouse section, which uses various materials such as highly transparent glass and PVC membranes to meet the lighting needs of different plants. Its interior houses the largest tropical plant greenhouse in the Chinese Pavilion, showcasing mangroves, palms, etc., and features a digital art installation called "Molly and Her Family" (a group of giraffe sculptures), combining plants with art and technological narratives.
